Most people buy one engagement ring in their life. It is reasonable to feel that you are not prepared for it. The good news is that you do not need to be.
Begin with the person, not the stone
Before carat weights and colour grades, we ask about the person who will wear the ring. Do they wear gold or white metal? Are their hands busy: a surgeon, a ceramicist, a pianist? Do they favour the classic or the unexpected? These answers narrow the field faster than any filter on a website.
Then, the diamond
We will show you a handful of stones that fit what you have described and the budget you are comfortable with. Each is explained plainly: where it sits on colour and clarity, how it is cut, and what its certificate says. You will look at them under the loupe yourself. You will notice that two stones with identical paperwork can look quite different in the hand. That is why we do this in person.
The setting follows the stone
A setting is chosen or made around the diamond, not the other way round. A long emerald cut asks for a different mount than a round brilliant. We will show you what works and what does not, and we will tell you honestly when a design you have seen elsewhere would not suit the stone you have chosen.
Sizing, timing, discretion
Most rings are ready within three to five weeks. If you need to keep the ring a secret, we can help you find the size without asking. And if the size is not quite right on the day, we adjust it.
